This place is disgusting. I wanted Chinese food for lunch one day at work so I decided to go here because of the very convenient location. That was the only positive feature this place offers. Everything else was terrible. I will also admit that I was spoiled by having excellent Chinese food when I lived in California. This place is disorganized in a way that makes me wonder how they remain open. The problem is that they are in a very touristy area of Myrtle Beach so they do not have to rely on repeat business. They just have to open their doors. When I walked in, there was no one to greet me, no menu available to preview and no one to seat me. After wandering around, I found a hostess chatting with what I assumed to be her friends in another part of the restaurant. She asked me what I wanted to drink, pointed to a dirty table and told me to 'sit there.' I then walked over to the buffet and this was what killed my appetite completely. It was horrible. It was not attended, not maintained and not appetizing in any way. The presentation of the food was disgusting. There was food dropped on the floor that needed to be cleaned up and the tops of the buffets were dirty. There was also a lot of spill over between individual pans on the buffet. It was very unappetizing and the smell was not good. I cannot review the food quality here because all of the other factors were so terrible that I walked out. This place failed on so many other levels that I couldn't imagine that the food would be so good that I can't imagine it would erase the many negatives.

if you love buffet this is a good restaurant to visit, but the staff is very accommodating and allowed my family to order from the menu. Portions, even the small size, were plenty and the cooking is light. Plenty of rice with meals, fried or white. In a community where Chinese restaurants are in every shopping center, place this on your list. large comfortable both, and extremely bright and well light.

As a Chinese buffet, they are very basic, the service is ok, and the food is meh. It's fast and cheap and right down the street from my house and where we work, so it is really only a last minute, in a rush lunch option. They have all your basic Chinese dishes, a handful of not the freshest sushi, and a small hibachi bar and grill. They used to make sesame balls for their dessert options, but I haven't seen them in a few months. The one item they have that seems unique to them that I can't get anywhere else are these little seafood pies. Kinda like a chicken pot pie but with crab meat and/or shrimp, and it's open face style. Delish if you can grab 'em fresh!!

I am so disappointed to have to write this review. If you'd asked me a couple years ago what I thought of this place, I'd of told you it was the best Chinese buffet in the area. My wife and I actually used to eat here several times a year, but we moved a little further down the beach and it slipped off our radar. Fast forward 24 months or so and my wife and I were running around town earlier this week and she mentioned, "we haven't been in there in a long time, ya wanna hit the buffet?" I said sure... Anyway, I have no idea if they're under new mgt. or simply stopped caring. Take a look at the pics; they pretty much tell the story. It's really not even worth wasting my time writing about them. The weird box of clothes just sitting on the window seal marked "For sale 1.00" should've been a clue. I'm really having to restrain myself from giving them 1 star. Did I mention the furniture looks like something a junkie shot-up and died on? Suffice it to say, I'm not a fan. -Neil

I would never eat here again, the restaurant is very dirty makes you think how is the kitchen. The food is very plain and the staff very unfriendly even fighting with each other. I wouldn't come back even if it's free!!!!!!!!

Came here on a Monday evening but service is terrible, food is not fresh, and certainly not worth coming here ever again. My advice would be to try a different place for your buffet.

I eat lunch there on a regular basis and I have noticed a decline. Agree with most of the reviews. It's ok. It's affordable.

I was in the mood for Chinese food (Lomein particularly) and being new to the area, I thought I'd try this place since there is one in NH that I frequented sometimes. I found a coupon online for 10% off and it was lunch time, so off I went. The buffet was $6.95. I thought it was very good and they even had sushi. I only eat California rolls and I got 2 of them. I loved them. They were wrapped very tightly. and easy to eat.. The Lomein was good and did the trick, as that's what I really wanted. I tried several of the chicken dishes, since I love chicken and liked all but the one on the stick. It was almost burnt on the outside and pink in the middle. The crab rangoons were good and I really liked the 'walnut' shrimp. They had plenty of shrimp dishes here. I noticed some oysters on the half shell for those of you who like that sort of thing. My partner enjoyed the General Gso's chicken. I was also surprised that the waitress didn't bring over a pot of tea. Instead, she asked what we wanted to drink and I said tea. She asked if I wanted sweet tea or unsweetened and at that moment, I knew I was getting ice tea, which was fine with me. Our waitress was very attentive in taking away dirty plates and asking if we wanted more tea when she saw the glass half full. It was a Saturday and there were probably about 25 tables full. This would be a great place to bring your children, whether they are 6 or 18. They can fill up with no problem. The rest room was pretty clean, which is important to me. Yes, I would go here again, but just remember not to eat a big breakfast if you're going here. You'll have nowhere to put all that food.

Went for new year's eve. Seated very quickly. Not to busy or noisy. Friendly staff. The place was very clean. Saw an ash tray of butts near the bathroom, luckily no one was smoking. Food was ok, it is a buffet. All in all a pretty good night.

I'm not a buffet eater or a fan of Chinese food, but my parents are and live close, so we ate here this week. I must admit, the food was good for a buffet. Good selection: walnut shrimp, crab stuffed shrimp, Chinese shrimp in a sauce, general tso chicken, sesame chicken, Lo mein, fried oysters, very tasty vegetables in a sauce, great green beans, some dim sum, beef options, grill area, egg drop & wonton soup, and soft serve ice cream. It was $12 a person and worth it. I didn't think the sushi looked great so I didn't try that. Service was good too.

The food was, at best, mediocre. The buffet selections were plain and mostly fried. The ribs had what tasted like dollar-store BBQ sauce on them---not what I expect from an Asian restaurant. The hibachi grill noodles I had were flavored with what tasted like a huge amount of plain soy sauce. The employee cooking it actually scowled when I said thank you and could not be bothered to look at me. The dessert section was pitiful--nothing fresh & the ice cream from the soft serve machine was tasteless. I will never eat here again!

Food here is terrible! The food is old, bland, and workers don't even bother refilling the trays. Everything is minimal, oily, greasy, and just plain disgusting. There is a reason why when you look into this big restaurant, all the seats are empty. Service is even worse - with crappy servers, some even smoking right near the food. I would definitely not recommend going here, even for a free meal!

This is a very clean place, it's all very nice. Except there isn't much of a variety, there is soft served ice cream but doesn't have any toppings. The food is well cooked and is good but has very limited variety. My family didn't like it either. I don't completely recommend this place if you're a Chinese buffet type if person. Also this place is expensive.

One word YUCK! We had just gotten into Myrtle Beach today and decided to pick China Buffet as our first dinner on our vacation. What a mistake! The food is nasty, not much of a variety. What kind of chinese place does not have sesame chicken and white rice? The prices are also very high for the amount of food its serving. The price is $10.99 per adult and if you want all you can eat crab legs you must add another $7.00. I dont even think they had fried chicken wings! And most of the food was cold. I was very disappointed and not impress.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
